Using Qualitative Data to Manage and Improve Theological Libraries

Authors

Timothy D. Lincoln

Synopsis

This chapter presents how managers can collect and interpret qualitative data to support efforts to improve the quality of library services and meet patron needs.. Qualitative data can communicate the emotional impact of library services as a kind of storytelling. By collecting qualitative data through interviews and testimonials, a story of the library’s impact emerges. Lincoln outlines methods for collecting and analyzing qualitative feedback and demonstrates how to use a storytelling strategy to advocate for resources, inform decision-making, and support inclusive practices.
